Tie It All Together: Beads & Ribbon

If you would like to incorporate fibers into your beadwork, soft materials like ribbon, leather and suede can be easily used to create handmade jewelry. Here are some simple ideas on how to use ribbon and other fibers in your designs:

*Use ribbon as a closure for chains, or beaded strands crimped to large jump rings. This technique is easy, simply string the ribbon through each end of the chain or jump ring and tie around your wrist or neck. This is especially convenient because it makes the jewelry adjustable in length.

*Strands of beads can be crimped and attached to ribbon, suede or leather.

*Color coordinated ribbon bows can add an adorable touch to a simple piece of jewelry.

I love using ribbon in my jewelry designs, the look is ultra feminine, romantic and just simply pretty! There will be more ideas with ribbon to come.
